The Tahoe Vista area boasts an assortment of hotels and motels, in addition to single family residences.Tonopolo, a private residence club, is located here, for those who would like to just come up and enjoy. There are also handful of restaurants, sure to please all.
The Old Brockway Golf course is located here at the corner of Highway 267. This golf course has a lot of history. It was built by Harry Constock. (A name you will here more than once when discussing Lake Tahoe history.) The course meanders through towering Jeffery pines with majestic mountain and Lake Tahoe views. Enjoy more than 3400 yards of quality golfing experience, including two par 5 holes. The tight fairways and the postage stamp greens are reminiscent of golf in an era gone by. Tahoe Vista also offers nice level access to the lake and lots of sandy beaches. In fact right across the street from the Spindleshank Restaurant is a beach called “Sandy Beach”. There is also a business that rents kayaks and mountain bikes near there. The North Tahoe Regional Park is located just alittle ways up from the lake on National Avenue and offers great access to trail heads for biking, hiking and nature walking. You will also find a few baseball and soccer fields. The park offers bathrooms, picnic tables and a playground for the little ones.
In addition to restaurants there is a large Safeway, also located near Highway 267, for your grocery and pharmaceutical needs.
At the corner of Highway 267 is an area of beach access that has 3 sand volleyball courts, covered picnic area, which you can reserve, lots of grass to sit and picnic on, bathrooms, an informational kiosk and sandy beach. The lake at this spot is shallow for quite a ways out, so as a rule, a little warmer.
Additonal beaches to watch for here:
Moondunes, Agatam, and Sandy – these are great beaches for children. The sandy bottom of Lake Tahoe extends from these beaches at a toddler-friendly depth of one to two feet for a few hundred yards.
