Kings Beach was named after the King Family, this area of the lake has long wide beaches, and is close to the Stateline for gambling or Highway 267 which takes you over Brockway Summit into Truckee.
Kings Beach offers a variety of places to stay, shop, and great places to eat. In the summer there are craft fairs and a weekly farmers market.
Miniature Golf, Sand Volley Courts and a boat ramp are just some of the businesses and facilities you will find here. Take the time to walk to main street to discover some of the hidden gems of the Kings Beach area.
You will also find the Kings Beach State Park here, which provides long sandy beaches, restrooms, playground, pier, boat ramp and picnic benches. Coon St Beach is dog friendlyand they are allowed. This beach is small, but large enough to make any water dog happy. Bring your lunch and eat at one of the picnic tables.
While standing on the shore in Kings Beach and gazing south, your view is of Mount Tallac. A very popular late spring into summer hike. The real mountain enthusiast, take their skis and snowboards with them and make the trip up very well worth it, by riding or skiing down. From this spot is easy to see why this is one of the most beautiful places in the world.
